Experienced mountain guide, professional, great knowledge of the area. Can work with all age groups and helps you to achieve your goals. Fantastic training for technical mountain climbing and of course a great guy
I had a great day out on my ML steep ground and rope work refresher. I'm feeling confident and keen to practice the skills. Thank you Simon, great teaching of the skills and general ML important knowledge.

I booked Oranjebergsport for their 2 day indoor to outdoor conversion course for myself and a friend so we could progress our indoor climbing and start to climb outside, Simon was very quick to reply to e-mails and booking was straight forward.
The course itself was well planned Simons approach was very much to get you on the rock learning and we complete more climbing than I expected on the first day. On the second day he had us leading the climbs and setting up our own belays, leaving us with the confidence to go out on own the day after the course and complete our first lead climbs and be perfectly happy thanks to Simon's tuition each other knew what we were doing.
Would definitely recommend Oranjebergsport and Simon to my friends also looking to take there climbing outside or anybody looking to take part in one of his courses or activities it was two fun filled days and we learnt an awful lot.

A big thank you. I so enjoyed the day - it was everything I hoped and even the weather couldn't dampen my spirits! I really appreciated how patient and clear you were with your explanations - I got a real sense of how experienced and thoughtful a coach you are.

My day out with Simon was really useful. The content of the day was tailored to my needs, and the delivery was pitched to match my understanding. I finished the day feeling happier, more confident, with new ideas to improve my delivery.

I first came into contact with Simon when putting a website together, and he kindly contributed a "hill story”. We then communicated about the best way for me to qualify as a Mountain Leader. However, whilst I had many years of hill experience, I was fairly clueless about some aspects of the syllabus and assessment itself, but Simon was there to assist. He took me onto the hills, with the brief from me to give me some ML type situations, and at the end give his honest view about my competence and suitability. My navigation was good, but following Simon's input I realised that it needed to be to a more honed standard. My environmental knowledge was poor, and the day was an awakening to this aspect of ML. Simon wrote down a few areas on which to concentrate, and several months later he gave my log the once-over. A little over a year after our hill day, and many personal practice walks later, I passed the ML assessment first time.
