Cross Training for the Outdoors

Train smart for getting the most out of the mountains, in mountains.

We love the concept of being fitter; being able to ski for longer and climb higher but we dislike the gym. Instead we believe the secret is being constantly active, varied and upping the tempo in what we do. We are mainly climbers; climbing is however more than one discipline and we are multi discipline, rolling with the seasons so training for this change is really important.

These courses are outdoors; this is outdoor fitness training helping you become hill fit. Being fitter in the mountains helps injury prevention, makes goals more achievable and makes your time out more enjoyable; savouring the views instead of gasping for breath at every step.

Our courses have a mountain focus but you don’t need to be super fit or experienced, just up for a challenge. Our ratios will be kept small and the level bespoke; in fact we will be with you the whole way even the evenings when we bring in specialists for open water swimming and yoga.

If you have a mountain goal; walking the Scottish Munros, summiting Mont Blanc, trekking up Kilimanjaro or in the Himalayas, going skiing or feel like an intense week in the mountains this could be for you!

We run two season-specific five day programmes aiming to get you out and about and give you ideas and inspiration for the outdoors.


Summer
Get fit for: summer trekking, climbing and expeditions

Included

  • All Instruction and hosting at low ratios with, qualified, experienced and insured instructors
  • Guiding to some secret spots
  • Climbing Equipment (except shoes)
  • Individual training programme for ongoing development

Not included

  • Accommodation (although we can provide recommendations)
  • Wetsuit or Mountain Bike (Although hire can be arranged with notice)

No prior experience is required for any activity, and tips and skills instruction will be given when necessary but in order to get the most from the week these are not skills based courses
